PERFORMING arts with a difference

Throughout our website you'll see the phrase "performing arts with a difference". Some people may be wondering, "What makes Connections Studio different?" MANY things pop into my mind when asked that question, but one of the main differences is that we are a "performing" arts studio. What exactly do I mean by that? I mean we actually create, find, and provide PERFORMANCE opportunities for our students/clientele.
Many places/studios have the "once a year" June recital, which don't get me wrong, that is one of the big ones, but it's not the only show we at Connections put on throughout the year. In our very first year, we performed "A Winter's Tale" (our version of the Nutcracker) in addition to our June show. The second year we performed "A Winter's Tale" again, which made our winter production an "annual" production. Third year came this past December 2018 and we performed "A Christmas Medley" which was filled with all different types of characters, dancing, singing, and other talents. One of our patrons commented, "if that show doesn't put you in the Christmas spirit, I don't know what will."

Here we are Spring 2019 preparing for our new Spring play/musical "New Cat on the Block". Our Spring play premieres on May 26th, our Summer Show (end of year recital) will be on June 29th, then after that our Fall and Winter Productions....4 shows in one year. Next on the Connections Calendar are the auditions for our fall production, The Performer. Auditions for The Performer will be held on June 1st, 2019 @ 1:30pm at Connections Studio. Do you want to join in the fun? Did I mention that you don't have to pay any fees to participate in these productions? You don't have to be enrolled as a student either, although it would be fun to see you in class AND at rehearsal.
Conclusion: we create and provide PERFORMANCE opportunities for our ENTIRE studio. Believe it or not, the performances I've mentioned above are not the only performances we offer. On top of all those shows, we perform in the local community, downtown Chicago, the surrounding cities and places such as Brookfield Zoo, AND NO we're not stopping there.
We believe in quality and excellence when it comes to TRAINING in the performing arts...but what fun is there in training in the performing arts if you never get to perform? All work and no play = no good...and no growth.
If you'd like to join in the fun at Connections Studio then check our website for audition dates, performance dates and other fun stuff throughout the year. Contact us today and join us in all of our adventures. We hope to see you at the studio soon, and for those of you already joining us, thank you!
