Christmas at Connections

In the Alatorre house, this season is our favorite time of the year. We do our best to keep the Christmas spirit alive at Connections, too. There's something about this time of year that we love and embrace. It's not just the tree, the gift giving, and the snow...it's much more. Although we do enjoy all those things as well.

This is also one of our busiest times for the studio as a whole. Students, instructors, parents...everyone! Connections Studio stages an annual winter production, and it's not your average "dance recital". It involves a lot more than that. For this show, there are no costume fees, choreography fees, performance fees, rehearsal fees etc. for those who participate. This show is not only funded by Connections but is also created by us too. We write the script, choreograph the dances, build the sets, take the pictures, make almost every costume - you get the idea- and we do it all in just 3 months. There are not many shows like this out there. Most shows that children perform in have lots of fees, and require participants to do a lot of fundraising. Don't get us wrong, fees & fundraising aren't bad things to do, it's just not how we do things here. We're DIFFERENT. We work hard all year round to make sure we are the studio with a difference. Our goal with this annual winter production is to give performance opportunities to our students and our surrounding communities.

We're in our 3rd year now, this year we presented Connections first "variety show", A Christmas Medley! Our students played instruments, performed skits, they sang, they danced and we Alatorre's danced and performed right alongside them...it was an exciting night! Packed house. Strong performers. Happy faces. Great audience. A night to remember. Now, we get to perform at Brookfield Zoo's Holiday Magic show! Never a dull moment at Connections Studio. It's a dream job. On top of all this excitement, it's Christmas time!

Christmas at Connections is a lot of fun! The parties, performances, and all the opportunities....but the best parts are the "connections" and memories we make. Come join us at Connections!
